This year's Anti-Bullying Week slogan from the Anti-Bullying Alliance is 'stop and think - words can hurt'

Derogatory language is all too prevelent amongst young people today.  The use of language to demean another, whether racist, sexist or disabilist, can have a disastrous effect on the wellbeing of anyone on the receiving end of such taunts.

This year's campaign seeks to challenge the use of derogatory language, raise awareness of it's consequences and give children the tools to combat it.

For more information, go to anti-bullingalliance.org.uk .  There are also lots of ideas on the website on how you, as a young person, parent, school or community group can get involved.
