Dyslexia awareness – the impact of hidden disability at work


Dyslexia is about more than reading and writing difficulties……

When we hear the word ‘dyslexia’ we tend to think about problems with reading and writing.  While this can be true for some individuals, there are often a number of other factors involved.  This can include impact on time management, organisation, speed of working and planning.

This session explores what dyslexia actually means and provides insight into recognising possible traits, what a diagnosis means for an individual at work and provides advice on providing support.

Individuals with dyslexia can bring a range of strengths and innovative ways of working to an organisation.  Assessment can be a low cost solution to solving issues and provides invaluable insight into strengths and areas for development.

The dark side of personality! What are your career derailers?

We know a lot about why leaders succeed. Now we know why they fail.

On a good day, you can cut through dozens of emails, power through meetings and motivate your team effortlessly with a dash of wit and a pinch of sage advice. But what’s it like to meet you on a bad day? This session is based on the highly-respected Hogan Development Survey and explores the ‘dark side’ of personality.

We’ve all seen the warning signs: the boss’s furrowed brow that says, ‘don’t bother me now’ or the usual gang of sceptics exchanging conspiracy theories around the water cooler.

It’s human nature to have good days and bad days; we all need to vent our stress at times and sometimes behave in ways that we later regret.  However, do this too often, too visibly or with the wrong people and this can start to derail your promising career (especially for senior leaders and managers, who are often expected to be super-humans, invulnerable to the foibles of us ordinary folk).

  • Sessions can be delivered at our premisesor yours. We’ll need access to a projector / projection screen (or blank wall), plus flipchart.
